Sure—it makes a lot of men and women choke. That's why lakes are full of balls! We've always had a water hole in Florida; now the one we built last year in New York has grown in and is ready for you to challenge.
Think about how it works when you're on the range. You tell yourself ‘I'm gonna hit this over the water.' But when there ain't any actual water, where did your ball really go? This is a hole that can be played—you can hear it splash when you miss. And you'll know you made it when you don't. Dick says... Worried about sand traps? Those fairway bunkers that drive you nuts? They don't have those on the range, so you never really get to face your fear. You train your mind and your body properly when you learn with the real thing.
Dick says... Practicing putting in the family room just doesn't cut it when you get out on a real green. And when there's a bunker next to it, you're talking serious challenges. We've got all your basic golf horrors on our practice course—come on out where you can get over your fears and lower your score!
Dick says... Chipping giving you nightmares? Practicing on a smooth range doesn't prepare you for what you face on the course. Just like learning to parallel park—it's easy when you're using sticks or cones. Totally different story when there are cars in the way! You've got to get your brain used to the idea of starting from alternating smooth and rough lies.
