John Del Monte has been a student of the game for over 30 years. He first started playing the game at age 7. His passion ignited immediately. As a junior John enjoyed immediate competitive success, winning many tournaments in the upstate New York area and in four years of varsity high school competition lost only 2 matches. After high school John competed on PGA mini tours in Florida, Arizona and in the northeast. It was playing in these regional mini tour events John first got his taste for teaching. He quickly became known as "the guy who could fix you" by many of his playing mates, helping them correct their swing issues and improve their game. Teaching others became his passion.
John began his teaching career at the Lyford Golf School in Scottsdale, AZ. Mentored by Top 100 Teacher Keith Lyford, John was a quick study and became a senior instructor in his first year. After spending 5 years in Arizona John moved on to Stratton Golf University in Vermont where he served as assistant director for 12 years. And in 2001 John came to Ben Sutton, where he has been creating raving fans with each school and group of students he instructs.
In addition to teaching at Ben Sutton, John has coached four Korean National Team members and five female tour players who compete on the LPGA, KLPGA, Ladies European Tour and Ladies Asian Golf Tour. John's tour players have a combined 12 wins and 3 top five finishes in LPGA major events.

What the students have to say about John
Had a great time. Staff was fantastic. Sunday dinner & lunches excellent.
Not ready for the senior tour yet :) but I can go home and practice what I learned and have fun instead of being frustrated.
Instructor John Del Monte is superb in his style of teaching. On each station he would explain the shots, then show how each shot was done. He is patient with each student. I learned so much in the last 4 days.
I hope to be back next year. I will tell all my friends about Ben Sutton Golf School and to ask for John Del Monte.

Hi Ashley (Sutton) & John (Del Monte), just a quick note of thanks to you and your team. I LOVED the time with y'all at BSGS!! I appreciate all of the kindness that you extended. I've played golf 3 times since graduating and scored 91, 87 and then a 45 for nine. BEST GOLF I'VE EVER PLAYED! Thanks again!

John was great. A few small tips can go a long way. We only had 2 days and he did a wonderful job of reaching everyone's individual needs.

Jan Kleiman was very accomodating during the 3 days of instruction. She was always prepared to assist us with any or our needs. My instuctor, John Delmonte was more than anyone could expect from an instructor. He knows the game forward and backward and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Our class of 5 students was very different and John was able to help us all. When I return, I hope he is still with you as I will request him as my instructor again. considered going to Golftec prior to choosing Ben Sutton and I have absolutly no regrets. Your school gave me much more than I anticipated. I can't wait to return. I just hope nothing happens to the Sun City Center Facility. It has to be one of the best practice and training facilities in the country. Thanks for a great 3 days!
