Gregg Gamester

"Knowledgeable, experienced, passionate, a student of the game as well as a teacher" are words used to describe Gregg Gamester and his love for the game of golf. Introduced to the game by his father at the age of 10, Gamester comes from a golfing family. His father founded the Greater Tampa Junior Golf Association in 1977 and the Florida State Junior Golf Association in 1980. His sister was ranked fourth in the nation by Golf Digest when she was just 17-years-old.

Gamester's passion for the game continued through college. While earning his Business-Finance degree at Florida Southern College from 1981 to 1985 he was a three time All-American, State Champion, Conference Champion, and also was a recipient of the All-Conference, Most Valuable Player and Low Stroke Average honors and was privileged to be teammates with PGA TOUR veterans Lee Janzen (two-time U. S. Open Champion and eight-time PGA Tour winner) and Rocco Mediate (five-time PGA TOUR winner).

After a brief career in the insurance business with his father, Gamester decided to get back to his first love and turned professional in 1991, playing on various mini-tours over the next few years. In 1993, Gamester started his own golf school where he taught corporate groups, individuals, as well as college classes at Florida College in Temple Terrace, Florida before becoming an instructor at Ben Sutton Golf School in 2001.

At Ben Sutton, Gamester has been able to teach beginners to advanced players, juniors to seniors, from every walk of life and from all parts of the world. "It has been a wonderful experience to work with these students. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a smile, an excitement in their eyes, or a fist pump after a student hits a quality golf shot, especially when they say they have never hit one like that before. I look forward to seeing these results each day I teach my students," he says.
