  1. Why can't I improve my game on the driving range?
    Most every golfer has a better driving range game than a golf course game. There is a big difference between keeping your shot in the fairway and keeping it on the range. Hitting fairways, learning to pitch and chip and making putts is critical. Unfortunately, you will never learn this on the driving range only.

  2. I am a beginner, is golf school right for me?
    For personal, family or business reasons, you have decided to take up golf, but don't know how to get started or perhaps your first attempt was unsuccessful. Don't despair, Ben Sutton can help. You'll learn the basics of grip, posture, alignment to target, good impact position and follow through. Rental clubs are available at the school if you don't have a set to bring with you.

    We instruct golfers ages 13 and older. Families, couples and singles are all welcome to attend.

  5. What are the dates and rates for your full length golf schools
    Sessions of 2, 3, 4 and 6 days are offered October through the end of June in Florida. Download the 2010-2011 Florida schedule and rates.

  6. What are the rates for private lessons?
    3 hours daily- $375 (Bring a friend for $125 extra)
    6 hours daily - $595 (Bring a friend for $250 extra)

    Private lessons are subject to professional availability. Private Lesson cost includes: 1-on-1 or 2-on-1 instruction (bring a friend is with the same professional), Ben Sutton Golf School Instruction Manual, V1 Swing Analysis, Personalized CD of Instruction and Take Home Practice Plan.

  7. What if it rains?
    The staff doesn't like to get wet anymore than the students. If it rains hard or lightning is in the area you can bet that everyone will be under cover. To stay on the schedule, class hours may be extended or indoor video work will be done. Rain checks will be issued for any remaining instruction missed because of weather.

  8. What is your payment / deposit, change and cancellation policy?
    Deposits and subsequent payments are payable with American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa credit cards in US FUNDS ONLY.

    School Registration Deposit - $250.00 per person
    Private Lesson Deposit- $100 per person

    Balance Due - Remaining balances for Florida golf schools are due 1 week before the start of the session. Balances for New York golf schools are due upon arrival at the school.

    Cancellation - Please notify the main office at least 24 hours before the start of your session to cancel or place your reservation on hold. For The Resort & Club at Little Harbor guest reservations, a 72 hour notice is required. A full refund of the deposit and any payments will be issued within these guidelines.

    No Show - Failure to show for your session will result in the forfeiture of all deposits and payments.

  9. What accommodations does the school have?

    Florida
    If you need lodging during your stay, you have a choice of accommodations. Our full package plans include lodging at the Comfort Inn in Sun City Center but you also have the option to upgrade to resort style accommodations at The Resort & Club at Little Harbor in Ruskin. To stay at the Little Harbor, you would register as a commuter and the golf school will arrange the reservation for you at a reduced rate. You would need your own transportation to travel between the Little Harbor and practice facility each day. If you stay at the Comfort Inn, your daily transportation is included.

  10. What golf playing privileges are available to golf school students?

    Florida
    All 2, 3, 4 and 6 day students have playing privileges on the 18-hole Golf Club at Cypress Creek Course on their arrival day and daily after class. Tee times are subject to availability.

    New York
    All 2, 3 and 4 day students have playing privileges on the 18-hole Championship Mountain Course or the beginner friendly 9-hole Valley Course on their arrival day and daily after class. Tee times are subject to availability.

  11. Are country club privileges included if I am staying additional nights?
    Green fees and cart fees for extended stays are not covered in the price but we would be happy to help arrange a tee time for you on one of the local courses.

  12. What airport should I fly into to get to your school?

    Florida
    Most students fly into Tampa International Airport. But, depending on airfare, you may choose another. Here are links to the airports closest to Ben Sutton Golf School. Most airlines fly into these airports. Complimentary ground transportation is provided between the Tampa International Airport and Comfort Inn and may be arranged by submitting your flight information. This service is only available to full package students.

    Students should fly into the Albany International Airport which is located one hour north from the school. You will need to arrange your own transportation to and from the school. Albany International Airport offers car rental, limousine and taxi services.

  15. Do I need a car?

    Florida
    Campus shuttle transportation is provided to full package students who stay at the Comfort Inn in Sun City Center. You will need a car if you stay at The Resort & Club at Little Harbor or if you plan on doing any activities not associated with the school. There is no public transportation in the area. All of the airports serving Ben Sutton Golf School have major car rental companies available. If you decide you need a car after arriving at the school, there is an Enterprise, telephone number (813) 642-9267, in Ruskin. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and closed on Sunday.

  16. What is the dress code at the school?
    Typical golf attire is required on the instruction facilities as well as on the golf courses at the Florida and New York locations. Pants or shorts for men and women. Men are required to wear collared shirts. Women's sleeveless shirts must have a collar, but women's shirts with sleeves do not need a collar. Dinner attire is casual dress. No tee shirts or hats may be worn in the dining room.

  17. What time should I arrive at the golf school?

    Florida
    Students may check in at the school building between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. Rooms at the Comfort Inn are ready at 2:00 pm. Rooms at The Resort & Club at Little Harbor are ready at 3:00 pm. You are welcome to hit balls on our facility or you may reserve a tee time in advance to play The Golf Club at Cypress Creek Course. Instruction begins on the following morning.

    New York
    Students may check in at the front desk at the Christman's Windham House Inn between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. Rooms are ready at 3:00 pm. If you arrive before your room is ready you are welcome to use our training facility, or a member of the staff can get you on the Mountain or Valley course to play. Instruction begins on the following morning.

  18. If I don't have golf clubs can I rent them at the school?
    Right and left-handed Callaway rental sets are available at the school. The 6-day club rental rate is $150, the 4-day club rental rate is $100, the 3-day club rental rate is $75 and the 2-day club rental rate is $50. Rental sets are the Callaway Big Bertha's. The men's clubs have graphite regular flex shafts in the woods and steel shafts in the irons. The women's clubs have graphite shafts and are ladies flex. Please let us know in advance if you need to rent clubs so we may have them ready when you arrive.

    Yes, you may ship your clubs by FedEx, UPS or any other shipping service of your choosing.
