Dennis Knight's parents were active golfers and members of their local country club. He took junior lessons and played occasionally during high school and college. During his military service with the U.S. Naval Reserve, Knight had the opportunity to play in Hawaii, Japan and the Philippine Islands.
After graduating with his Bachelor of Business Management degree from Northwood College in Michigan, Knight purchased the family business with his brother and joined a businessman's golf league. One month after joining, Knight had his first of three career hole-in-ones and was hooked from that moment on.
He progressed from playing in amateur Michigan events to turning professional in 1980 and played on several mini tours.
Before joining the Ben Sutton Golf School professional staff in 2002, Knight taught at various local Florida country and golf clubs. In his spare time, Knight enjoys jogging.
