Chris Ayles
A native of Michigan, Chris Ayles' golf career started because of his talent playing the game. He was 1st Team All State in Michigan in his high school years and turned professional at the age of 18. Soon after, Ayles moved to Longboat Key, Florida to play competitively and work for the Arvida Corporation.
In the mid-1980s Ayles taught at the Winding Hollow Country Club in Columbus, Ohio before buying his first golf course in Plant City, Florida in 1990. After selling the course in 1995, Ayles spent two years working here at Ben Sutton Golf School. In 1997 he bought the Terra Ceia Bay Golf and Tennis Club and worked as owner, teaching professional and on the range staff. Ayles left the golf course business in 2005 and began his second stint at Ben Sutton Golf School in 2006.
"My passion has always been about the game and helping to teach others. So here I am back to where I can live my passion. Because the school is all about helping people improve, to understand and hopefully make Ben Sutton Golf School part of the path to reach their golfing goals."
Ayles is a life member of the PGA. He has played in the North Florida PGA for many years and won his share of events. Like most, Jack Nicklaus was Ayles' driving force to playing the game. Ayles has had a rewarding golf career and now can give back and work to help others.
